GPS for Football, Polo and Other Sports
For the third year of broadcasting polo matches on TV, we decided to completely redesign the GPS module.
We improved the GPS antenna for greater accuracy.
And we added a blood flow sensor that allows us to measure heart rate and blood oxygen saturation.
The core functionality remains the same, where the GPS modules transmit their real-time data over a 2.4GHz frequency to a base located within 500 meters
(we have tested a range of up to 1200 meters).
The base processes the information—route, trajectory, sprint, etc.—and makes it available via the web.
This allows the data to be displayed on screen with a delay of just 1.5 seconds.
The software was enhanced to enable direct integration between the base and the TV broadcast.
Since polo players often wear the module for many hours before the match begins,
we focused heavily on energy efficiency, which allowed us to reduce the device size.
